Pony Express decanter

Description:

A Regal China Decanter with a map of the Pony Express route from St. Joseph, [Missouri] to Sacramento, [California] on one side, and a Pony Express rider on a horse with the dates April 1860 to October 1861 commemorating the Pony Express's 18 month service. This is a creation of James B. Beam Distilling Company, copyright C. Miller 1968.

This item is not a part of the museum's permanent object collections. It is used here only as an example of the many popular culture pieces that have been produced to commemorate or celebrate the Pony Express.
