3c Annapolis Tercentenary single
This Annapolis Tercentenary Issue stamp commemorates the 300th anniversary of the founding of Annapolis, Maryland. The city was established by exiled Puritans. Annapolis is named after Anne, Queen of England, Scotland and Ireland. Annapolis became the temporary capital of the United States after the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1783. The stamp features James Stoddert’s 1718 map of region around Annapolis.
