This George Eastman Issue stamp honors George Eastman, the inventor of the photographic dry plates, flexible film and Kodak camera. The Kodak camera was the first camera designed specifically for roll film. It was mass-produces with standardized equipment and was marketed to amateur photographers. Eastman was a philanthropist whose money was donated to various universities and organizations to help fund ways to help people’s health and well-being.
