In April 2010, Alexander Haimann, a Collections Specialist at the Smithsonian National Postal Museum conducted a multi-day exhibit workshop with 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students at Cranbrook Schools Brookside (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan).
During the workshop, students selected stamps and developed text related to subjects they had learned in their classes.
The workshop explored the challenges in selecting and grouping exhibit subject matter. Additionally, students learned about online exhibit design, layout and object selection.
Every aspect of the following online exhibit highlighting regions of the United States was selected, written and organized by Cranbrook Schools Brookside 4th grade students.
