Hospice Care Issue

The 33-cent Hospice Care commemorative stamp was issued on February 9, 1999, in Largo, Florida. The stamp was designed and illustrated by Phil Jordan of Falls Church, Virginia.

With the dedication of the Hospice Care stamp, the Postal Service continued its tradition of raising awareness of social causes. Hospice is a holistic, team-oriented care program that seeks to treat and comfort terminally ill patients and their families, at home or in a home-like setting.

The Banknote Corporation of America, Inc., produced 100 million stamps in the offset process.
