The 15-cent Indian Masks commemorative stamps were first placed on sale at Spokane, Washington, on September 25, 1980. The block of four semi-jumbo stamps featured different carved masks, each representing the craftsmanship of tribes in the Pacific Northwest costal region.

The stamps were designed by Bradbury Thompson and were issued in sheets of forty.
