The 10-cent Veterans commemorative stamp was first placed on sale at Washington, DC, on March 11, 1974.
It was issued to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization. Formed in 1899 by veterans of the Spanish-American War, the organization has since enlarged to include veterans from all foreign wars.
The stamp was designed by Robert Hallock, and was issued in sheets of fifty with an initial printing of 150 million.
