Rural America Issue

The 8-cent Angus Cattle commemorative stamp was first placed on sale at St. Joseph, Missouri, on October 5, 1973. This was the first in a series of three commemorative postage stamps honoring aspects of life in rural America.

The stamp was designed by F. C. Murphy and was issued in sheets of fifty, with an initial printing of 150 million.
