Postal money order APO 524
Lieutenant Albert W. Schreck of the 524th Army Postal Unit purchased this postal money order in the amount of $1.00, payable to his wife, Mrs. A. W. Schreck. Along with the written figure, the left hand side of the money order has been cut to show only the desired sum of $1.00. Schreck's money order, serial number 1, was obtained from A.P.O. 524, the Army Post Office in Casablanca, Morocco. This money order was purchased on February 15, 1943, only three days after the opening of A.P.O. 524 in Morocco. Although bearing no indication that it was cashed, Mrs. Schreck would have redeemed the money order at the Lexington, Kentucky Post Office.
