Letter from Paris office at Rue de Bondy
This letter originated from the Paris office at Rue de Bondy on October 12, 1870, (fifth collection) and was prepaid 20 centimes for the French internal letter rate to Angouleme, “Par Ballon Monté.” It arrived in central France on October 17. As mail from the next balloons remained in northern France on October 17, it can be determined with certainty that either the Godefroy Cavaignac or the Jean Bart No. 1 (they both left on the same day) provided the aerial transit.
