"V for Victory ... Thumbs Up!"

A hand gives the thumbs up sign over the V for Victory. Flags of the United States and Britain are linked with the Victory icon. A three-cent United States Scott 901 is affixed to this serviceman's cover postmarked Scott Field, Illinois, June 12, 1942.

The cachet was designed by Ludwig W. Staehle of New York City (see marks below the hand) and printed by Fleetwood Covers (copyright 1941) of Pleasantville, New York.
