War bonds pay for the tanks that are crushing the Nazi Swastika. A three-cent United States Scott 905 is affixed to the cover postmarked Lansing, Michigan, December 16, 1944. A 1944 Christmas seal is also tied to the cover.

The cachet was designed by Xanti of Artists for Victory of Chicago, Illinois. See the AV on the artist's palette at bottom center of the border design.
