World War II Patriotic cover

Scott Catalogue USA: 905
Description:

"Help Defeat Hitler By Calling Him By His Right Name . . . Schickelgruber!"

Ashamed of his father's family name of Schickelgruber, Adolf was relieved when his natural grandfather, Johann Hiedler (at age 84), legally acknowledged his illegitimate son, Alois Schickelgruber (Adolf's father). Hiedler had changed his own surname to Hitler by this time; and Alois adopted the hyphenated surname of Schickelgruber-Hitler. Note that Schickelgruber was actually the maiden name of Adolf's paternal grandmother.
