Description:

"Have a Heart, Be a True American ... Cooperate with Uncle Sam"

This soldier's mail was sent under Free Franking from Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. A smiling Uncle Sam encircled by a heart is the work of cachet designer, Leonard Borkowski, who supplied it to the cover sponsor, Ted Harrington of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The cover is postmarked Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, December, 2, 1943.
