Confederate wallpaper cover
CSA 10-cent Jefferson Davis (CSA Scott 11) tied by Georgetown, South Carolina, December 11, circular date stamp to a cover made from wallpaper, addressed to Dr. W.C. Truman, Columbia, S.C.
The envelope was homemade from surplus rolls of wallpaper, a method used when envelopes were in short supply, and, as such, is called an 'adversity' cover.
