Owney received this token while traveling on board the Omaha & Ogden railway mail route. The token is dated April 22, but no year is indicated. The token was given to Owney by the clerks working on the eastbound train car, Michael P. Burke, an Irish immigrant, Joseph F. Finch of Illinois, Lawrence J.A. Holst, a German immigrant, Warren J. Nash of Maine, Lawrence R. Rossiter of Ohio, Frederick R. Stuart and George G. Whitmore, both born in Nebraska.
