Arago: Baggage Tokens and Tags

Owney received this railway baggage check token while visiting the Washington, DC depot of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. The depot was located at Pennsylvania Avenue and 2nd Street, NW, an area now used for parking. Owney visited the nation’s capital on a number of occasions; there is nothing on this token to indicate when it was given to the traveling canine.
