Photograph of JL-6 airplane

Description:

Side view of a Junkers Larsen JL-6. The JL-6 is widely regarded as the first all-metal airframe. The Post Office Department acquired six JL-6s in 1920. They proved unreliable and prone to catching fire, and were abandoned as a result.
