Typewritten in body of letter "January 21, 1922 / Dear Mr. Miller, / I enclose herewith on approval an 18c rate registered cover from Kingsport, Tennessee to Clinton, New York used in 1870. The price is $5. / With regard to the part perforate pair of 1c stamps I recently sold you, I have been told that it comes from an experimental sheet in which every other vertical row was imperforate. It was intended to cut these imperforate places for booklets. This seems to be borne out by Mr. Hurd's strip in which each alternate row is imperforate. / With best regards / Yours sincerely, / [signed] Eugene Klein / K/L / enc."
