Aviation exhibition post card
Charles F. Walsh, flying a Curtiss biplane, flew mail each day of the West Side Ball Park Aviation Exhibition, held at Buffton, Indiana, September 25-26, 1912. A three-line cancel included the date. The second line of the cancel used on September 25 is shorter than the second line of that used on September 26. Only a single item is known from those flown on September 25, while at least four examples are known from September 26.
The item shown here is one of the four flown on September 26. Its black, three- line cancel reads, "BLUFFTON INDIANA / AERIAL MAIL / 5 P.M. 9 26 12."
