USS Nautilus handstamp event cover
Description:
An encapsulated "test" cover depicting the cachet and cancel celebrating the USS Nautilus passage under the North Pole in 1958. The circular date cancel does not have the time of passage which was not yet carved by Frank Holland. This cover was used to test the marking devices. Affixed are USA Scott C39 and USA Scott 1031.
