1c Franklin type III single
1-cent used, perforate single. "C" relief from plate 4, Type III, position 67R4 (horizontal line visible on the shoulder that belongs to this position,
although not shown in the Neinken book).
Type III is one of the scarcer types of the perforated 1857 1-cent issue.
The side ornaments are essentially complete (which helps differentiate this
from the very common Type V, that everyone hopes is a Type III). This stamp
shows a small break in the top line and a wide break in the bottom line.
