The 6-cent Register and Vote commemorative postage stamp was issued on June 27, 1968, at Washington, DC.
M. Halberstadt of San Francisco, California, designed the stamp. Norman Todhunter, a member of the Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee, and Bill Hyde collaborated on the design. The original eagle was a weathervane atop a house in the Russian Hill section of San Francisco.
The stamp was issued in panes of fifty, with an initial printing of 1fifty million.
